Call me clueless but we are invited to a christening and would like to bring a gift - - but I have no idea what to bring. Anyone care to let me know what is proper as a gift? Thanks in advance for educating me.
I used to always get savings bonds, but they're a bit of a pain in the behind to get. I started giving $50 checks. For our Godson, I ordered a "floating" frame with a cross on it that says "God Bless Nicholas Richard" from Things Remembered and a check for a bit more money.
ETA: If you have the time to wait, I can let you know on Sunday what the typical christening gift is, since Caroline's is on Sunday & I anticipate getting some gifts since we have over 80 people coming.
For my friend's daughter I gave them religious type baby books...for example Baby's First Prayers and Noah's Arch Book with sounds of animals, etc.
Good ideas! Where would I find books like these? Thanks!
I went to Books-a-Million because it's right across the street here, but you can find them at any book store with the baby/children's or religious books. Also on Amazon you can shop for books/children's books/religion/Christianity and select the age too.
it might depend on how close you are to the people? Could you get a small cross necklace or personalized frame or hairbrush set? If you aren't really close, then I'd say maybe a check would be appropriate.

I'll take any advice - the christening isn't for another 2 weeks so we have plenty of time!

For my nephew we got him a personalized shirt that says his name and "heaven sent" on the front and on the back are angel wings.

That's where I got it from. Shipping is fast too.
The other ideas are good too.
