cue the early waking ... any tips?

we were doing so great with 8-7 sleeps.

Now, he has been up at 6 everyday for two weeks.

But he is clearly still tired. Grumpy as anything 20 minutes into being up so I don't think he's getting enough rest. 

Any tips? much appreciated ;)

    Maybe try putting him to bed a little earlier?

    omg your LO is so big now!

    he has done the 8 pm bedtime forever and if we put him down earlier, he only gets up even earlier.

    We are just coming out of one of those phases (except for us it was a 4:30/5am waking).  I made a rule that he couldn't get out of the crib until 6... we'd let him fuss for a while, and if it escalated to crying sometimes I would just go sit on the chair in his room and say "shh" every few minutes.  We would both doze on and off that way.  Then DH discovered that he could lay on the couch in the living room (outside DS's room) and say "shh" really loud every time he cried, and he'd quiet down.  We just had to keep the interaction to a minumum and now he's starting to sleep later again.

    DD started doing this- I tucked a book between the crib and mattress and also put 2 toys at the end of her crib after she goes to sleep- she'll wake up- grab something and then fall back to sleep. I have only been doing this for about 3 days, but it has worked :)

    whoa. we've been having 4am wake-ups recently and I put DS down with his thomas the train last night on a whim.  He stayed in bed till 6... I wonder if that's what did it... T the T is going in the crib tonight too!

    It shipped today and can not get here fast enough. I also ordered black out curtains from pottery barn kids.  We were doing great for a while, but recently moved and I the transition threw everything off.
