Today is my official first day back to work and I'm having a hard time with it. I miss our little girl. She is 8 weeks old today. Any ideas of how I can get through the day. I figured I would be so busy but I'm actually not so all I'm doing is sitting here thinking about Emily & missing her.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Question for all of you who have returned to work.
I'm not going to lie, it is hard. This is my 4th week back, but first week of working full time and first week of DD being in daycare (DH was home with her the last few weeks). I wasnt all that busy when I first came back either, so I just really have to MAKE myself busy. And I spend a lot of time online shopping for stuff for DD
Hang in there, the first week is the hardest. It does get a little easier.
Today is my 2nd day back and I can honestly say leaving him today WAS easier than yesterday. Of course I miss him like crazy, but being SAHM is not an option for me, so I just need to suck it up and get used to it.
Keeping his pictures on my desk really helps, and I have a video of him smiling in his sleep on my phone so I watch that sometimes too. What has really helped me is reminding myself how much Ryan will learn at day care-I was really pleased with the place we chose. They have lesson plans for every room.
He already "did" an art project on his first day and everything
Its really hard, but you can do it. Just remember that you are working so that you can provide everything she needs. Enjoy your time with her in the morning/night/weekends!
Completely agree. This is our slow season at work so my days are not busy at all-the bump keeps me occupied!
