Ds first real choking episode

Scared the hell out of me. ds must have grabbed 3+ little star puff snacks outa his snack cup and swallowed all of them hole. Dh got one outa his mouth then ds started to gag and threw up a 2nd puff...then ds couldnt stop gagging and started turning purple. thats when dh gave ds to mil (she lives with us & shez a nurse), who turned ds on his stomach over her lap, hitting his back. Ds was freaking out and I was just standing there in shock. Milwas talking the entire time camly explaining what was happening and what she was doing to help ds breath...ds starting crying again and we started wiping his face from all the salivia, snot, and vomit off his face when we notice a tiny amount of blood mixed in with the salivia out of his mouth.Mil said it must be from when ds was sticking his finger in his mouth during the gagging and probably stratched the inside of his mouth...ds reached out for me, I took him and he started gagging again, vomited up another puff...then cried for 15 minutes, then fell asleep....poor baby.dh went nuts yelling about how the puffs are suppose to dissolve in his mouth and how all 3 were covered in salivia fully intack...Im just very grateful mil was home and ds is ok.

Im glad your MIL was there, you should get her to show you some basic stuff too. I took first aid and a week later ds had a real choking experience and I was terrified. I was trying everything I had learned and it wasnt working! Finally I got him to throw it up ( a pretzel he found on the ground) and there was blood in his vomit too. So scary we both just cried. I hope your lo feels better soon.
