s/o old weight, new weight: that was very pc of you, dh

i had an old pair of pants [well, actually my only pair of pants] hanging to dry over the shower curtain rod. dh sees them and goes, "holy cow, why did you even wash those? they`re 100 years old! do they even fit?"

i said, "i washed them so i could put them away, maybe for dd, they`re so cool. and yes, actually, i tried them on and they do fit."

he goes, "oh, wow! aren`t they from your crazy-skinny days?"

"um, no, remember? they`re from my very heaviest, right after we started dating."

.

he then took a deep breath and said slowly in a very even, honest voice, "then i don`t understand how they fit."

very sweet of you, dh :)

  • They can be so incredibly clueless - can't they.  It makes you wonder why we even give a damn.

Once I was feeling bad about my weight so I looked at DH and said "I've lost 5 pounds!" (completely untrue) to which he responds "Wow! You look great!"  And if I can convince DH I've lost five pounds just by saying it - why bother working out?

  • LOL... totally something my DH would've said. :)
