A few of ours:
Festival of Lights at our local zoo
Getting the annual crystal ornament from Swarovski. (It's expensive but we've done it for the last 4 years and I'm soooo excited for what our tree will look like in another 20 years or so!)
Making Christmas cookies on the 23rd of each December
Choosing one gift to open on Christmas Eve
And we'll be making cake balls each year as well of course. What are some traditions that you've done in your family that hope to carry on with LO?
Re: What are some of your family holiday traditions?
One of our traditions will only last as long as my grandma is alive...but we always go to her house on Christmas and go fishing. It's such a nice day to relax.
I would like to pass onto the kids the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve(done this since I was baby) and the tradition of one gift from Santa, the rest from mommy and daddy. Not to mention...we always have an advent calendar so each day the kids get a peice of chocolate(DD's favorite! lol)
We always put up our tree on Black Friday (this was a tradition started with DH & I).
Opening 1 gift on Christmas Eve (pj's!)
Sprinkling reindeer food/leaving cookies for Santa
We'll get her 1 new ornament each year.
Driving around to look at the lights
My favorite tradition is decorating gingerbread houses. We've done this since I was little and haven't missed a year! My dad made a tiny one for LO this year.
Other traditions are driving around to look at lights and leaving cookies for Santa. I also love Elf on a Shelf and hope to do this with LO.
