Overstimulation?

It seems that since LO is noticing her enviroment more and more, she sometimes freaks out when she is overstimulated.  Plus she fights sleep, which can make for a not so fun time.  Anyone else?  Sometimes we have to hold her pretty tight to get her to calm down because she will be flailing her arms and legs.

Re: Overstimulation?

  • The past 4 nights DS has been fighting going to bed.  DH has been overstimulating him when he gets home from work and i know thats whats doing it.
  • Yep, I've definitely seen DD get overstimulated and melt down.  It happened over the weekend because we had two holidays to attend and there were too many people for her.  I usually do something to remove stimulation- swaddle her, go into a darker/quieter room, or if we are out I put her in the Ergo carrier and put the head cover up.  Usually she'll fall asleep (even if she fights it at first).  This is the only time I let her "cry it out" (in my arms, never by herself).
