Thanks for the link to the other thread on this name - I tried to do a search to see if there was something already out there, but it didn't turn up!
It's interesting some people think it's spelled incorrectly. I tend to think adding an "e" to the end of a word to make it a name is made up. But I actually think Skye is a legit name and Sky is not - but I'd heard of "Skye" before and not the other way. I guess either flies. And I think it is honestly a nickname for Schuyler or Skylar. But I'm ok with nicknames as actual names, although I know a lot of people aren't.
There's also cultural significance to me and my Scottish heritage relating to the Isle of Skye.
Sounds like a stripper to me. You have a gorgeous, traditional name (I would totally have used it if it weren't SIL's name) ... I'd find something equally nice for your DD.

I like it! I am all about not spelling it how EVERYONE else would spell it. Hince my middle boys name is Khol and my youngest is Brier! I have a cousin her name is Skye And my SIL her sisters name is Skye Ann LaSheena!
Re: curious....
I've known a few people named Skye.
A bit hippie-ish, but overall there aren't too many cons against it.

Love Sky, annoyed by Skye...I have an issue with word names trying to be something else with an added E. This goes for Raine too.
