Is anyone planning on writing a thank you and/or giving your ob a gift after everything is said and done with?? And if so when are you planning on doing this, right after the birth or after the 6 week check up?
I will send a birth announcement and write a nice note to go with it. In all the exam rooms they have birth announcements and notes posted on the walls, so I know this is something people often do. I will not be sending a gift though.

Good Morning! I am actually working with a group of three midwives who are beyond fantastic. They will be with me for home birth (well, two of them will be.) However, one of my ideas as a gift for them will be one of the Willow Tree figurines sold at Hallmark. Someone gave me the 'mom' one. They are fairly inexpensive but, I think, are very nice gifts. Thank you for reminding me I need to put this on my list too! Best of luck to you.
Not doing a gift... my gift is all the money I've paid them =P I'll either mail them a birth announcement or a thank you note with a picture in it. Haven't decided which. And I'll just mail it to them.

I'll send a birth announcement to the office and probably bring a bunch of chocolates or basket of goodies and thank you note to my 6 week appointment for everyone in the office. They have been so great to us that I want to do something to show our appreciation.
Everyone at my OB office has been absolutely AMAZING throughout my whole pregnancy. From the docs, to the nurses, the front desk girls, and even the phlobotomist (sp?). They've helped make my pregnancy experience a pleasent one. I'm going to be making them a big batch of chex mix, a few different kind of breads, cookies, and a few other snacks. If I'm too tired to do this my sis said she will do it for me. I'll take it to them the week before Christmas since LO will be here by then. Its the least I can do for them after all the great care and attention they've given me the past 9 months!

I will be doing this as well. Ive paid her enough money in the last 2 years that Ive probably paid her mortgage a couple times. I dont really feel the need to buy her a gift at this point.

Him seeing my vag in all it's glory will be gift enough.
This is what I was thinking, too.
ROFL!! You're my favorite.
But wouldn't it be so much nicer to take a picture of that and put it in an engraved frame for him?!?
Oh yes. I must have it with the engraved Sterling Silver frame.
