As I was talking to my SIL this weekend we mentioned our TTC problems and I mentioned that September due dates will be coming up soon.
So the subject is what you said to me. She said there are already too many September birthdays that we just don't need one more. I know she was joking, but it still kind of stung.
I politely said back to her, "Sorry babe. We've been waiting too long for this and if it happens I guess we're just going to have to deal with another September birthday, won't we?"

Ugh I hope she was kidding, but either way she shouldn't have said that to you. How self-centered and rude can you be? Very insensitive and not really something she should be joking about to you.
January, when our baby was due, is literally the only month that our families don't already have a birthday, so I thought it was perfect. Now I'll take any month, day, whatever, just give me a baby!
'cuz that's a priority...not.

Wow - I'm with you, a baby is a miracle whenever it comes, that is so wrong to tell someone they shouldn't have a baby in a particular month, even if you are "just joking."
FWIW, a co-worker actually laughed and told me I was "stupid" to have had a September due date during my first pregnancy. She told me I should have timed things better. Ummm, yea, if she had any idea how many months I TTC'd before I got pregnant, maybe she'd have kept her nasty mouth shut.
If you DO get a September baby, your child will be the oldest in his/her class - a definite plus when (s)he gets into school!!

I am sorry your SIL said that. A baby is a miracle. I think a September baby is a good month. I have never worried about how many birthdays we already have in my family any given month. Your SIL needs to learn to think before she speaks.
