How did you pass the time while in the hospital for your induction? Or how do you plan to pass the time?
I don't know how realistic it is that I'll be able to get any sleep (I'm being induced at 9pm) so I'm trying to plan for a long, sleepless night.
Re: Induction ladies: How to pass the time?
You're being induced, did I miss that post?!?
Yay for getting to meet baby!
I'm not sure yet whether I'll be induced or go naturally, but I'm packing lots of things to entertain myself. My hospital bag has several movies and at least one TV series in there, and I also plan to bring my laptop, iPod and at least one magazine. I might bring some knitting too.
I'll probably look like I'm over-packing, but I hate being bored, so I wanted to bring lots of options.
I posted yesterday about it, I haven't made any progress at all so I have an induction date for next week in case he does't come this week!
I was really hoping family and friends would be able to visit since that would really help kill time but nope...they are inducing at 9pm and visiting hours are over. How stupid is that? Boo. They can come again in the morning but I should be in active labor then and no visitors are allowed in then either (just DH and one other).
I definitely plan on bringing my laptop for movies, hulu, facebook, bump and general entertainment.
I brought movies to watch and Mr Techie and I both had our Kindles. Mr Techie got some reading in but I mostly just dozed on and off and chatted with him and my mom. By the time the contractions were well underway, I wasn't up to doing anything but getting through it. After I got the epidural, I got two hours of sleep.
It's a hospital though, so keep in mind that they don't leave you alone
I had non stop people in and out every 20-30 minutes from 6 am on, it seemed like.
