I've been up since 3:30 PST it is now almost 5am. I had my OB appt yesterday and found out that lil one is not growing. At 32 weeks she was 2 weeks behind. I had another growth ultrasound yesterday and she is now 3 weeks behind. I am officially on modified bed rest and will have another stress test on thursday. Next monday I go in for my weekly appointment and another ultrasound. If lil one does not grow in the next week my OB will be inducing...at 36 weeks 6 days....I am so not ready...its too soon! I know she will be considered full term which I'm grateful that we have gotten to this point but I'm so worried. Why is she not growing? My OB thinks its a placenta issue....but why? Is there some other underlying health issue? I've been racking my brain all night. I know that stressing doesn't make the situation any better but I can't help worrying. I have had a completely uneventful pregnancy until now but I can't help thinking that my body is letting lil one down.
Thanks for the vent girls... just needed to express some thoughts out loud.
Re: 4:30 am insomnia & restricted fetal growth
It was nothing you did! My baby was IUGR too and I was so worried it was something I caused. My docs thought it was a placental issue too. None of it is your fault. Don't google!
My doctor ended up delivering my baby at 36 weeks 2 days. She is doing just great and she went from gaining only a few ounces every couple weeks, to gaining almost a pound a week. Sometimes they just grow better outside.
I am sure your baby will be just fine. If they were really worried, they would have probably delivered your baby now. Good luck and I am sending growing vibes your way!
I had an uneventful and easy pregnancy too and completely understand the sentiment that you feel like you are letting you baby down. I felt so bad that my body wasn't helping her grow enough, but like I said, she is doing awesome now.

I'm sorry you have to go through this! My LO was measuring behind and unevenly at one point- her body was lagging behind her head and they were concerned about IUGR. Luckily she bounced back when they checked her three weeks later.
I'm sure your LO will do great, though, and it's awesome that you've made it this far! Hang in there!
