I am trying to generate ideas for Christmas and G's bday since it is not too far off. I figure since we have many LO's around this age it might be helpful to hear from Mommies of older kids.

 

What was/were your LO's favorite things to play with around 1 year?

What are some of your go to toys and the age for that toy?

    I try to find toys that are fun, durable, and can be used in many ways.  A little over one, he started to love his shopping cart and play food.  Nesting blocks were and still are a big hit.  We use them in so many different ways. His train obsession started about 18 months, so you have some time but be ready for that! :)  He really liked a lot of the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn toys.

    When Justin turned 1 he was obsessed with tools. He had a singing Handy Manny tool kit and a stand up tool bench by Little Tikes. He also really loved his Mega Blocks. To be honest I don't buy him too many toys because he gets so many as gifts, I assume most are from "Big Box" places like TRU and Target. Like pp said, a good toy is durable. I also think a good toy is one that's easy to clean.
