I remember feeling that way with Wyatt just before he was born. When he came out, I figured out why- my son is 21 inches long. I'm just under 5 ft tall so he was totally out of room. He was trying to make some more by rearranging my ribs.
Try changing positions and laying on your left side. (They really do have the most room when you lay that way).

yeah, mine head butts my pelvis a lot and that's super painful now that s/he's dropped. The other thing that happens is that s/he stretches out his/her legs so that a foot pokes out my right side (really far out) and a butt pops up just to the left of my belly button at the same time. Basically, my bump is no longer round. It is lumpy and pointy as the LO moves.
