DD has suddenly started refusing to let me change her diaper. She does the "alligator death roll" and will not sit still. This morning she had a major poopfest going on and in the middle of trying to change her she is up crawling around with no diaper on. I'm scrambling to put a diaper on her and then she pees. On the carpet. Ick. It seriously took me like 20 minutes to get a diaper on her and put her pants back on. Anyone else having this kind of trouble??
Re: anti-diaper changing
Yep. I hand him something to hold & then put one hand on his belly/hips to hold him still while the other changes him.
I need to add that to my resume - can run queries, write in HTML, & change diapers with only one hand.

You never know which way DS is going to act during a diaper change. Sometimes he's fine looking at a book or a toy and other times it's constant rolling and I just have to tell him NO!!! and hold him down to get the diaper on...not the most fun job in the world...thats for sure!!
I dread diaper changes. She screams and moans the whole time. If we are on the ground, she forcefully rolls over and I have to change in crawl mode. If she is on the changing table, she insists on standing and walking towards her dresser to walk on that. It is all miserable however I try.
We have the same issues. we started giving Bryson something to hold like our cell phone (key pad locked of course) or the diaper rash cream, or something random that we don't normally let him play with.
This usually gives us enough time to get a quick change in w/o any issues.

Yeah, this has been a struggle for months for us.
He throws a fit even if he's standing up. Sometimes if he's really worn out before his nap, or still groggy when he first wakes up, he'll just lie there. At all other times, it's a huge ordeal.
For a while changing diapers at our house was like WWF. DD would scream, roll, and kick all at the same time. It was unbearable. After a few modifications to the diapering routine, we are doing better, but we still have our moments. Things I do differently now are to:
1) Do more diaper changes on the floor instead of the changing table. I got a few of those big waterproof pads and I put those down on the floor then do her diaper change.
2) If I do a diaper change on the changing table (normally the morning diaper change and bedtime diaper change), I have books that she can hold and "read" while I am doing changing the diaper. Much to my dismay, she loves Elmo, so I normally keep an Elmo book or two on the changing table and she grabs the one she wants right away. Busy hands and eyes make the diaper change go so much easier.
3) I ask her to help more. I often ask her to hold the wipes or diapers and say "thank you" very loud when she hands them to me. Sometimes she eats the wipes, but I guess you can't win them all.
Hope that helps!
That is my DD, pee I can still change.Poop is like a whole other story , she just rolls around and she is strong. It is not funny and I have no idea what to do
Almost every diaper change since DS was 11 months old.
If I give him my iPod to hold, he occasionally will lie still?for a minute! I barely have time to put his diaper on and dab ointment on his butt.
