My doc did our first internal yesterday... and she said I'm 1 cm and 50% thinned out. (It's nice to know that SOME part of me is thin right now!)
Anywho, since DS is head down, I'm just wondering who else out there is/was effaced for a few weeks before delivering. I totally want this kid to jump out a week or two early, but I'm not sure if we can expect that or not. Just wondering if thinning out and having a head-down baby means anything this early in the game. I know he's been head-down for 2 weeks now...
Re: Who's walking round effaced?
It pretty much means nothing. I've been 1cm dilated and 70% effaced with him head-down since at least 36 weeks.
Sorry.

I get that you hit the 'wall' and you are ready but at not even 37 weeks, I wouldn't want to jumpstart anything yet. Give it a good week and then go from there.
I was 50% effaced since 30ish weeks. I've graduated to 80% in the last few days.
Good luck!
At my last check, a week and a half ago, I was 1 cm and fully thinned. The week before I was a fingertip and nothing. I'll see tomorrow if I have any further progress.
She's been head down since at least my ultrasound at 35 weeks.

Thanks. I am just emotionally drained because for the past 2 months I have been hearing from my customers that he must be coming "any day now..." which has made the past 2 months drag on forever. Plus my cousin, my friend, and another friend's sister all just had their babies in the past week. So I want an outside baby sooner rather than later, though I know the next week or two would still be a little too early. I just think that about a week or two early would be lovely. Didn't know if being halfway thinned out already would mean he was coming a week or two early or not.
Exactly this. And it's frustrating, even though I know it means nothing.
