Midwife recs please!

I am looking for a midwife who does home births. I am in the Elk River area. I know that a midwife is a personal fit but I would really like to hear some good experiences - or bad- so I can make a decision. I'm just not sure where to even start making a decision on a midwife! Thank you so much for your help, I really apperciate it.

    my friend Sarah is one www.geneabirth.com I've never had her as my midwife, but I love her. 

     

    You can also go to one of the parent topic nights at the Childbirth Collective, and meet a bunch of them there too.

    I gave birth in a hospital but used a midwife and it was one of the best decisions I made about the birth of our child. If I hadn't used a midwife I almost certainly would have ended up with a c-section. Our midwife was with us in our room constantly during my labor and she was wonderful. My husband was a little leary about using a midwife but after he saw how wonderful the care was he's now 100% for using midwives and wonders why everyone doesn't use one. I don't have a recom for a midwife that does home births but good luck in your search.

    I used Erin Kaspar-Frett. I'm not sure, but I think she'd work in your area. I loved my birth experience. Let me know if you want any more details. I thought Erin was really calming. I also interviewed Emme Corbile and Claire Welter, and they seemed great too.
