Team Green turnd Team... (PIP)

PINK!!!!! We are over the moon with our little girl. I never knew I wanted a baby girl so bad until the Dr. said 'It's a little girl!'

Here's a short version of our story:

I started having contractions at 3am on Thanksgiving morning. I kind of knew what I was in for since it happened the same way (and almost the same time) as it did with DS. At about 7:30am DS woke up and came in our room, DH took him to the bathroom and when I got up I felt something 'plop' out and thought that maybe it was just discharge (sorry TMI) but when I got to the bathroom I saw that it was my mucus plug which freaked me out because I never lost it with DS.

I went back and forth all day on whether or not we would go to Thanksgiving dinner (40min away) but decided that as long as the contractions stayed irregular and weren't too bad that we would go and see what happens. We went ahead and they weren't too bad while we were there but come the ride home they got worse & worse.

Long story short I got to the hospital around 915pm and was already 5cm. The on call Dr. was not one of my regular dr.'s, it was one of the dr.'s that covers my practice when they are out. Anyway, she kept trying to talk me in to a VBAC (my scheduled repeat c/s was not for another week) and was really starting to make me feel bad but thank God for DH because he told me to stay strong and do what I wanted to do. in an hour and 1/2 I wound up being 8cm and was having so much pressure and the urge to push, it was possibly the worst pain I have ever felt in my life! Because I had eaten all day, anesthesia originally said I couldn't have a c-section until 1am but luckily they changed it to 11pm and off we went.

DD was born at 11:35 on Thanksgiving night and weighed 6lbs 10oz and is 18.5 inches long. She is beautiful and such a good baby already. Unfortunately I was released from the hospital on Sunday and she did not come home until today. She needed to be put under lights for phototherapy starting Sunday because of her billirubin (sp?) levels and the fact that she had some issues with the ABO blood (my body, even though I had the rhogam shot, had already started building up antibodies against her blood type). She is fine now though and we are so happy and feel so complete now with our boy & girl.

Here she is...introducing Payton Alyssa:
