It is annual review time around here and my boss is worried, apparently, that I'll go into labor before I finish my review. I fully intend to finish by the end of the week...but then he asks me if I'm dilated yet!! It was just...awkward. Because, you know, his wife was closed tight the whole time, then dilated all the way all at once. Um, thanks for the pep talk?

Sorry....I don't mean to laugh, but this made me chuckle. People are so ballsy when we get close to delivery. That must have been super awkward.

Honestly, I wanted to gag a little. But it also made me laugh right there. I'd say I hope he wasn't offended, but that would be a lie

I don't get where people think it's ok to ask these type of question, if I get another "so I see you haven't poped yet or had any contractions I am serously going to scream and it's usually from guys I get these questions.

Yeah that would be a bit awkward. My (male) boss has filled me in on all the details of the births of his 2 sons. Like....down the to the nitty gritty about how his wife tore/broke her tail bone pushing/the boys had swollen testicles after birth/mucous plugs, etc. Honestly, I don't really care if he shares (and I've gotten a few good laughs about the whole birthing situation he portrays), but I don't plan on reciprocating. When he asks how things are progressing I just reply with "Oh...you know how things go..." w/out all the details. He gets the point and we move on.

I think it's because they don't go thru it. Most of the guys I work with are, by turns, fascinated or freaked out. But both usually involve a lot of questions.

The women are more "meh. been there, done that" or "GAH! don't want to know yet".
