Babies: 9 - 12 Months

when can we....

Switch from formula to whole milk?

DD has been eating table foods for 2 months now. shes 10 months. she only has 2 (8 oz.) bottles a day. and MAYBE one juice in her sippy cup? whens the earliest i can give her whole milk.

it seems like it would be so much easier and cheaper. but i want to make sure its ok before i jump to it.

TIA

  • my pedi said transition her at a year old, but many people do it before.  I'd see what your pedi says & then make a decision based on what you think is best.

I can't wait until I don't have to buy formula anymore!  I'll be rich!  LOL!

  • We just asked the [pedi this at our 9 month check up and she said 1 year.

  • I could probably start transitioning now, but I want to wait and see what his pedi says at his 1yr check-up next week.  He hasn't been taking much formula lately, so I'm wondering if he's starting to get more full from table food/self-weening.
