Those of you who already have induction dates set...

Out of curiousity, what is the reason for your induction?

I have a Dr. appt tomorrow and I wonder if they'll discuss induction - I am okay with waiting until I'm a week over due, but I am a bit nervous about going longer than that, even though I know some Drs allow patients to go 2 weeks over.

    My OB only lets you go a week overdue so my induction date is a few days after my EDD. I do hope LO will come in the next few days but I doubt it. My induction is next tuesday.

    I ended up going into labor naturally the day before I was to be induced but we were going to induce due to low AFI.

    I'm taking insulin for GD.  They induce at 39 weeks because of concern that the baby will get too big and the placenta can break down.

    Placenta previa here.. I will be induced on the dec 20th if the amnio come back good..

    High blood pressure- I was induced at 37 weeks, 3 days.

    Gestational diabetes here too.  My doctor will allow me to wait for LO to arrive on his own up until my due date, but that's it.

    I've been 4cm dilated since last Friday but have had steady progress since my 36 week visit.  Also, my BP readings have been a little high at some visits and ok on others so considering my steady progression and already being 4cm plus taking the BP into account my doctor is inducing this Wednesday.  I do believe I am going to ask that my water be broken first before given Pitocin.

    I will be getting induced for two reasons.  First, I have had pregnancy induced hypertension (have been on bed rest for a month).  Second, I have a chronic autoimmune disorder where my body destroys my platelets.  My hematologist tried putting me on steroids to get my platelet count up and they seemed to be working for two weeks and then stopped working.  So this weekend we tried a two day IV treatment.  I will be getting my platelets checked again today and if the IV treatment worked, the OB wants to induce before my platelets have a chance to fall again, so probably later this week.

    Missed Miscarriage discovered 12/22/14 at 12w0d D&C 12/23/14 Pathology: Partial Molar Pregnancy/Triploidy

    My induction date is set for Sunday. I will be 40w 2d. My dr. set an induction because I don't have a very active baby. They know he is fine and aren't worried but would still rather get him out of there sooner rather than later. I am more than ok with that because I tend to go a little crazy when I don't feel baby move for long periods of time.

    I'm being induced for hypertention and gestational diabetes, I'm also on insulin.
