I turned 20 weeks today (whoo hoo!!). I am trying to figure out how you count how many months you are based on weeks.
My co-worker said 4 weeks does not equal 1 month in the pregnancy world. I would think since I am 20 weeks I am 5 months - 2 weeks into being 5 months so I could also say I am 4.5 months. Is this correct?

If you punch your due date into the right hand side of the screen, it will tell you how far along you are in months.

4 1/2. You're halfway done, half of 9 is 4 1/2. But I just say weeks myself.
Pregnancy months are generally counted in Lunar months, which are 4 weeks each. That is why they also say you are pregnant for more than 9 months.
But medical people will always count in weeks, because it's more accurate.
4.5 mos.
Depending on who I am talking to, I say weeks or months. If its a woman who has had a baby I say in weeks. Men or people who don't have kids I usually say in months.
Even though it doesn't work out perfectly, in my head 4 weeks=1 month, so 20 weeks would be 5 months.

They say you are pregnant for more than 9 months because 40 weeks is actually 9 months and 1 week.

Try this:

But a lot of websites, books, etc. will tell you you are "actually pregnant for 10 months!" Which is true, if you are counting in lunar months.
::shrug:: I don't agree with it, I just calls it likes I sees it.
but keep in mind it's counted from the LMP, so the first 2 weeks, you're not pregnant yet
