I've been putting a blanket on DD for a while now, after she's well asleep. When I wake in the middle of the night, I go check on her (simply b/c I love looking at her and seeing what she's up to). The blanket is always off. She moves around alot, so I'm not sure if it's just getting taken off accidentally or if she is moving it at some point in the night b/c it's aggrivating her.
If your LO sleeps w/ a blanket, what kind of a blanket is it? Light weight or medium weight? And does he/she keep it on through the night?
I'm also wondering how old they typically are when they can realize they are cold and put a blanket over themselves.
Thoughts?
Re: Does your LO sleep w/ a blanket?
We sleeps with three of them actually.
He uses one fleece blanket as a pillow, has a second one on top of him and there's a third on at the other end of the crib. He moves around a lot too, I used to go in and put the blanket back on him before going to bed, but I woke him up once and it was awful. Not worth it.
no blanket here. I wish. he wants nothing near him other than his smalls security blanket (it's small).
I wish he would use a blanket, especially in the winter but he just throws it out of the crib as soon as he notices it. Or if i put it on him while he's sleeping he'll wake up almost imminently and start freaking out.

My DD does, but I think it is more for comfort. Most mornings when I get her it is bundled up under her. When we put her down she is on her back and we cover her, but by morning she is sleeping on her belly with her butt in the air on top of the blanket.
DS has always slept with a blanket.
Now he sleeps with 2 - one is light weight and his lovey (Aden & Anais blanket), the other is a warmer soft blanket that goes over him once I lay him down. DH checks on him around 5:30am and he's uncovered so he covers him back up.
Not sure what age they know to cover themselves back up?
