I had an appt today (I'm 35w2d) and LO was only measuring 5lbs 2-3oz ... So they are thinking he will be just over 7lbs at birth ... I just assumed my LO would be a 8-9lb nugget so I don't have much if any newborn clothes. so should I go buy some just in case? I have heard the u/s could be off by up to 2lbs, but the tech seemed pretty confident. How accurate was your u/s? TIA ladies!

About the clothes:
FWIW my LO was too tall for newborn sleepers (21.5 in), but fit into the NB onesies... so it's not all about weight! I wouldn't go crazy with the NB clothes right away though... you can always do laundry or have someone grab you some NB clothes if you're really needing them.

yes, buy some newborn sleepers!
I had a growth u/s at 36wks due to GD and they estimated DD was 6lbs 8oz. My dr said she was going to at least 8lbs and probably more, so they induced me on my due date so she wouldn't grow to big....well..she was only 7lbs 10oz when she was born
. I had NO newborn sleepers and DD swam in the 0-3 sleepers. Don't go overboard, but at least have 3 or 4 newborn sleepers, just in case.
They had some trouble with the scan because some of DS's measurements were off the charts, but they guessed 12 lbs, he was 10lbs 15oz.
Even though DS was so big, he STILL fit into some newborn stuff. Like pp said, onsies and carters brand stuff worked for us. I would definitely get a few things.
I forgot to add that he is still in newborn/0-3 mth sleepers, so yes you should buy a few.
The day I went into labor the U/S said 7 pounds 1 ounce. She was born the next morning at 5 pounds 15 ounces. My U/S 3 weeks prior said 4 pounds 13 ounces... so that one was actually pretty accurate!
I did have a new U/S tech for the last one... maybe that had something to do with it?

11.11.10 - 5 pounds 15 ounces
I had an u/s at 38w when I had my version, and they guessed 7lbs. She was born a week later at 8lbs 1oz.
I'd get some NB stuff regardless, she was in it for the first month even though she was an 8lber at birth.
