I went to the doctor today and found out I have a herniated disc and have to go to physical therapy to fix it.
The most annoying symptom is that my lower right leg is numb and tingly, like it fell asleep, but the pins and needs sensation doesn't go away- even when I'm sitting. I'm told it normally takes 4-6 weeks to fix.
I've been stretching and it seems to help, but only for a short amount of time. Has anyone has this problem and found relief? I don't know if I can take this for 4-6 weeks; especially with a very active 2.5 year old. It's seriously irritating and makes me grumpy.
Thanks.

Re: Ouch- herniated disc!
I hope you feel better soon. PT definately is beneficial. I had herniated one of my lumbar discs 4 years ago (pre pregnancy) and it continues to bother me everyday. The burning and numbness in the legs is the most difficult.
Start in PT right away to establish strengthening exercises.Heat can work wonders.
