We got approved for foster care last week, talk about something to give Thanks for!

I guess I am going to start hanging around this board more. My DH and I are taking in a foster-to-adopt 19 mo little boy who is arriving tomorrow and I am admitting that I am scared to death.

We live in Springfield Twnp, but I work in Milford, so I am all over the place. I work days and DH works nights, but I am available weekends as well.

I would love to do play dates, but perhaps after the new year for him to get settled and used to us.

It's understandable that you are nervous, but you are going to do a great job. Even if the foster-to-adopt doesn't work out, you are doing a great thing by opening your home to a foster child. Those kids need love and support more than anything!

audrey is 20 months old so feel free to ask anything! we can always get the kids together after you have settled. you are going to do great!

19 months is a great age too!! So much fun!!

I'm sure there will be an adjustment period for all of you but it will be great! You can do it!! And we're all here for you if you hit any bumps in the road!
