Need advice regarding smoker neighbor

So our new next-door neighbor is nice, but she's a smoker and smokes on her patio morning, noon and night. The problem is that the smoke comes right into our living room and bedroom. We have other neighbors who smoke, but they choose to smoke in the back of our units by the garages, so it's easy to shut those windows. The front of our house, not so much. I feel bad because it's her patio, but it really bothers me, esp since my husband can't keep a window closed for more than an hour or two. How do you ask someone not to smoke? Ugh.

our neighbor smokes on his patio all the time and it sucked because it would come in our slider and kitchen windows and get trapped in the corner of our livingroom - right where I sit!

Every time I'd slam the slider shut (since that's about 4 ft. from where he was smoking and make some loud comment about the punkass/dumbass/stinkyass smoker. - he never got the hint. LOL!)

Are you cool with her? If you are, I would just go over there and ask her if she could smoke in the garage or somewhere else because its coming in and messing up your allergies (or insert some excuse there). If you arent cool with her, I guess you could go the Staycee route. LOL!

We're cool enough I guess. Slamming the windows isn't working lol or maybe I just forbid my husband to open the windows unless he has a chat with her, since I can't be nice and confrontational at the same time

Move to a place where no one opens the windows in November. Like South Dakota. There done, your problem is solved

Even when I was a smoker, I hated the smell of second hand smoke. If I had a neighbor that did this, I would probably write a nice note asking her whether she minded smoking out back by the garages, as you can't smell it from you living room/bedroom that way. That's tough.
