This medicine should be used with caution during pregnancy, and only if the expected benefit to the mother is greater than the possible risk to the foetus. Seek medical advice from your doctor.
I would double check. I know someone who just spent weeks in the ICU because his doctor prescribed him something that didn't mix well with a pre-existing condition that he had.

i do it EVERY day multiple times a day. i look at it this way:
high blood pressure can cause low birth weight and preterm babies;
high blood pressure medicine MIGHT maybe have a tiny chance of causing a problem but most likely not.
anxiety and depression can cause a host of issues with the baby and myself including cleft palate, low birth weight, seretonin withdrawl upon delivery, etc.
the meds i take have had a high success rate from my own research and not any problems. therefore the slight risk totally outweighs the benefits from the medicine.
most doctors will agree about this, especially high risk OBs. they can laugh at some of the things that regular docs might not know enough about or have enough pateints with a certain medication to determine anything. my doc said not to read this stuff and worry about it. basically all it means is that the drug hasn't been around long enough to have enough of a population that is pregnant using it to support any issues or 100% dismiss issues either. they don't do drug testing on pregnant women. EVER. so it takes longer for these meds to "prove" that they are safe during pregnancy.
Yes, if my DR. prescribed it, I trust her. I actually have already done this. I was just given something for my Excema the other day that had that warning on it. Like the PP said, they never test PG women, so the facts are off on most of those.
I took one like that for a fungus infection. I double-checked with my doc, and really disliked having to take it, but ultimately I kind of suspect maternal infection causes more birth defects than prescribed medication
I have ulcerative colitis and take special shots. I would not be able to carry this baby unless I was in remission and these shots are keeping me healthy. It was a no-brainer to GI doctor and I.
Re: Would you take a medicine...
The feeling is definitely mutual Mod! I like your style...and like you say I think everyone else does too...they are just scared to admit it!!!
