How Do I Sterilize?

I need to sterilize paci's, bottles/nipples and should I also sterilize the health care items such as nail clippers, aspirator, thermometer, etc? Sorry if this questions is ridiculous. But How do I do it?

  • I just put it all in the dishwasher on sanitize cycle. I never sterilized nail clippers, thermometer, etc. I don't see the point.
  • We bought a microwave sterilizer for bottles and pacifiers.  I think it was $30 (Dr Brown's).  We used it yesterday and it seemed to work!  We don't run our dishwasher every day so I wanted something I could use easily a couple of times a day if necessary.

  • I used the dishwasher for most things, but a few times I put everything in boiling water for 10 minutes.  I didn't do things like thermometers or nail clippers, though.
  • I have these for when I need to sterilize something quickly: https://www.amazon.com/Medela-Quick-Clean-Micro-Steam-Bags/dp/B000096QQ5

  • I personally would sterilize nail clippers and things like that - only because even though they are packaged they are still developed in a plant and who knows what touched them. I'm just a freak though. lol.

I just rub these with some rubbing alcohol and actually do it before each use.  OP, my Medela pump instructed to boil the parts for 10 minutes.

I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...
