Check for dialation

Tomorrow is my 36 and a half week appt and first to get checked for dialation. What should i expect? This is probly TMI but because of the pressure, it has been extremely tight, almost closed down there for intercourse.. so its quite a situation to even do that so I am very nervous as to what to expect tomorrow morning!

    Basically they put two fingers up there and poke around. I found it extremely uncomfortable not exactly painful, made me very crampy afterward though.

    I haven't had any problems getting checked. The doc sticks some fingers in there, feels around a little and then its over. It can make you bleed a little or cramp, but I haven't had either issue. Good luck tomorrow!

    This was my experience, too. And don't let it discourage you or, on the flip side, excite you. Basically it means nothing...  : ))

    Between what I read on here and what some of my girlfriends who are further along told me, I was expecting to be in major discomfort and even pain.  However, I barely even noticed.  My midwife was quick, and I hardly felt a thing.  I guess everyone is different!  Good luck.

    It felt a but rougher than my normal annual exam. No big deal.
    BFP #1 9/23/09. Missed MC 10w3d D&C 11/3/09.

    BFP #2 4/13/10. Bridget born 12/28/10

    BFP #3 Finn born 8/11/15

    I just got checked for the first time last week, and it was a little painful for me.  I felt very "stretched", but had no cramping or bleeding afterward.  Doc told me if I did bleed just a little that it was totally normal.

    I was actually really thankful I WAS so far progressed when I got it. That sucker kicked in and it was heaven...and then it lasted all the way through delivery, getting stitched up, and getting out of bed for the first time after (which is MEGA uncomfortable as all of your organs and junk shift back into place...it's really gross and weird)

    Hmmm... I had my 37 week appt this morning and still have not been checked for dialation... guess I should've asked when they plan to start?

    2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
    IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
    FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
    IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
    8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
    11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
    FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
    u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13...
