1st Trimester

2nd (or more) time moms, m/s question.

I've never had bad m/s, but with Ds I didn't have any true nausea until around 6 wks pg. I never threw up, though.

I'm on day three of feeling like ass with this pregnancy, and I'm a little freaked out. Is this just going to get worse and worse, or does m/s kind of hit a plateau?

I'm hoping you'll all tell me that 2nd pgs just "kick in" faster and I won't have worse m/s than I did with Ds. lol.

  • All pregnancies are different so nobody can answer this question. I was very, very sick with my first pregnancy. This one hasn't been bad at all.

  • I also am having early bouts of nausea. It started around 11 DPO, and is nausea every morning. It isn't as bad as m/s, but I feel ill like I have the flu or something.

With my son, I had no nausea until m/s hit around 6 weeks.

As pp said though-- every pregnancy is different.

  • My 1st 2 pgs, I felt fantastic until 8 weeks, then 8-13 were yucky.  Current pregnancy, the nausea/exhaustion started just days after BFP (less than 4wks along at that point).

I got earliest OB appt possible, since I was sure either I was further along than I thought or I was having twins.  I was right - it's twins!

    Good luck with your 1st u/s :)

  • With DD I had m/s from week 5-15.  The nausea started again right at week 5 this time.  I am not looking forward to dry heaving everyday and being nauseous all day.......urgh.
  • I have no answer but I hope my dr can give me something tomorrow.  I threw up yesterday and can barely eat anything.  This has been going on for 2 weeks now.  I am taking Unisom and B6, but I'm really not noticing much of a difference.  This time around is so different from the first!

  • Well, everyone is different, but my morning sickness this time is somewhat worse than it was with my first pregnancy.  I hope to be moving on from morning sickness VERY soon!
  • I definitely felt sick for the 1st tri w/ ds, but this time around is much worse. I feel sick a good 85% of the time, though thankfully no vomiting. I am still really miserable and tired though. :( GL, hope you feel better soon. I resorted to the unisom/b6 last night and I am hoping it does something in the next few days because I am having a really hard time with life right now.

  • With DD, I had m/s (more like night sickness) from 7-18 weeks.  Ugh, it never seemed to end. This time around, I am already feeling sick at 5 weeks.  Fingers crossed that it doesn't get as bad as #1 (or for as long) but even if it does, it is worth it in the end.
