I'm so pissed off right now. We bought a stove on Friday at HHGregg. Picked one of the three stoves that they had in stock that could be delivered within a week. We had gone everywhere else and that was the only place that had a model we liked in the budget we set that could be delivered sometime soon. They set our delivery for Sunday, and off we went. Should have known better, because I already hated HHGregg.
Sunday comes, and the morning passes without a call to give us our delivery window, so I called to find out what was going on. The woman who answered said that they had no stock of that model and it should have never been sold to us. Of course, the salesdouche wasn't in yet, so we canceled the order and went out looking again.
We upped our budget a little bit and went to Lowe's, where we picked from ONLY what they had in stock. They assured us that it was in the warehouse and would be delivered today. I called at 2 to find out where it was, and the manager said we weren't scheduled for delivery until December 6th. I KNOW it was set for today, because a manager had to come over and override the system to schedule a next-day delivery. He went looked, then called back to say that they didn't have any in stock.
He's supposed to be calling back yet again with a solution, but so far I haven't heard anything. I'm just so annoyed. SO annoyed. If it was just C and I then we could live on microwaved junk, but poor Toddler Charlie just wants some tortellini. That's all he's asking for. I guess we'll get the hotplate back out again.

Re: no stove. again. ** updated **
I also think you should let Tricia call Lowes and tear them a new a-hole. She'll go Teresa on them.
By the time I'm done with them, you'll have a finished basement, too.
When our stove broke (The element in the oven went out and when DH tried to replace he didn't shut off the breaker and fried the thing) I had to wait almost 2 weeks, 2 weeks without a stove for someone who has to cook all the meals because of various allergies is a nightmare let me tell you that. I went to Kmart and got me a cheap toaster oven and hot pate. Yes sister I ghetto cooked for 2 weeks
I kept them as souvenirs and maybe to for DH to take to work so he can fix some decent meals at work if he feels inclined to.
Oh yes I not only made DH buy me a spiffy new oven, flat top and blue interior but the microwave to match
