Hi,
My husband and I are trying to conceive. We had one unsuccessful month when a friend pointed out that I may be ovulating at a different time than I thought. Well she had me purchase this monitor for $150 and she was right. My question is, has anyone used it and how successful is/was it?
Re: ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor...
You bought a fertility monitor after one month of trying??
Why not try charting? It's free and will tell you when you ovulate too.
I don't know how successful it will be for me because I am not pregnant yet, however, it seems to be accurate. My temperature shift correlates with the monitor readings. Also, I back up the monitor by using ovulation predictor kits and these seem to confirm that the monitor is working.
Here is a link to a thread for those new to the board:

Welcome & good luck!
Eh. I don't see the big deal. IMO, this is like saying "you bought OPKs after just one month of trying?" Granted the monitor is significantly more expensive than OPKs, but if the cost is not an issue, why not?
The monitor is just as good as charting, in my opinion. The monitor cannot confirm ovulation, but it detects your entire fertile window, which starts even before a +opk. I see nothing wrong with you having bought it, even after only one cycle. It is a great tool. I chart with mine as well because I like to confirm ovulation.
I am on my 3rd month using it, so far so good. I haven't had success with it yet, but I know many who have. Good luck!
Nope, it can miss your surge just like opk's can.
I've used it off and on for years now.
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
IMO, why not?? If you use OPK every month, eventually the cost will add up if you don't conceive right away.

Why not just try for a few months and chart...it's FREE!
This is true, but for people who do not want to chart, the monitor is a good tool, just like opk's. In my opinion.
