BACKGROUND
So I went into PTL at 33.4 and ended up in the hospital on Mag. Well after 4 days they sent me home with a home uterine monitor and a Brethine Pump (same as insulin pump basically). I monitor every morning and night for an hour, and if I have more than 5 contractions they give me the go ahead to give myself more brethin, then I remonitor for an hour to see if it worked. If not, they will call the doc.
Before I left the hospital, the doc told me if I "break through" the brethine pump that we are going to just go ahead and have a baby.
TODAY
I woke up this morning and got on the monitor and had 8 contractions (more than ever). I usually have 4 an hour which is under the threshold, and good. I got the extra brethine, and hooked back up to the monitor. So we will see if these CTX slow down. If not we will be at L&D again for the fourth and final time, having a 35w3d baby. And even though we have had the shots and were only trying to make it to 36 weeks before I got off all these meds- I AM SO NOT READY FOR A BABY IN THE NICU! Even if my Mom is an NI nurse, and is constantly reassuring me.
I'll keep you updated on whether or not the ctx calm down.
**Update**
I had 3 contractions while I was hooked up to the monitor and alot of what they call "irritability" which feels the same as a fricking contraction. So, she (my pump nurse) called the Dr's office to see if they wanted me to come in and get checked, and they said no, which I told her they would. They just said if it gets worse tomorrow, that I could come in a day early for an appt. So she said to just remonitor tonight and see how it goes from there.
Which it's going to go like this..Monitor, "alot of contractions", extra meds, Monitor...maybe they will settle down, if not, extra meds, monitor- until the end of time lol.
I JUST WANT SOME DAMN PIZZA. stupid diabetes. Having contractions for 3 weeks straight means a girl deserves pizza right? lol

I have a similar story, but with pills rather than a pump. At 35 weeks (and after 5 trips to triage for shots) they gave me pills to take every 4 hours and told me not to come in unless I was 5 minutes apart. I haven't got that far on the meds, but the contractions are still annoying and constant with roughly 6 an hour. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and going off the meds finally and off 2 months of bed rest finally. My doc feels 37 is term, so she made me hold out and keep him in. With only 2 doses left I feel it was worth it to not risk NICU, but it certainly wasn't easy so I don't blame you one bit for being frustrated as all h*ll.
