First Hair Cut Advice Please!

Hi ladies!  I am taking my 11 month old to get his first haircut on Wednesday.  (When it's straight it's down to his nose) It's starting to get into his eyes, so we need a little trim.  Any advice for keeping him entertained while she cuts his hair?  He is OBSESSED with my hair stuff...loves the dryer, brushes and stuff, but I am more nervous about how to keep him stationary.

    where are you going? We want to a kids place & it was great they had TV set up & he just watched Elmo the whole time.

    We are going to my husband's hair lady of 7 years.  Unfortunately, our little one isn't a TV guy, so putting cartoons on I don't think will help us (unless wheel of fortune is on - he LOVES that show).

    I took my fidgetty daughter to  Kids Hair or something like that... they had a TV that she could watch and they took their time so if she started to wiggle they could stop and she could finish wiggling. She loved it. I only got her bangs cut, but they did a great job with her.

    We went to a Snip Its.  It was great!  You get a certificate for the first cut, a lock of hair in a bag and they will do a whole picture thing if you want.  There is a place for the parents to sit at the chair and they have videos or a little computer mouse thing for the kids to play with.

    I have decided its important to go somewhere that WANTS to cut my kids hair, not be annoyed because they have to.  I know lots of hairstylists and they all hate cutting kids hair.

    When I used to do kids cuts I'd have the parents bring anything that they know will distract- snack, book, ANYTHING! We'd literally hold it in front of them so they'd sit still :) Whatever works! Maybe if she gave him a clean comb to play with while she was doing it if that works? Good luck!

    Why not just go to a kids hair location?  They have all the distraction you need.
