I am a bit over 39 weeks and after seeing friends and family this weekend, I heard the phrase "you just don't look uncomfortable enough yet" several times.
Yes, I have been very lucky this trimester - with the exception of a PUPPPS rash that has made my itchy skin nearly unbearable for almost two weeks now, but I guess that doesn't count as "uncomfortable" since it's not visible to outsiders!
Anyone else nearing the end and actually feeling better than you thought you would?
Re: Anyone else 39 weeks and "not that uncomfortable"?
nope, can't say that I'm sharing your experience....now quit rubbing it in.
I am feeling quite comfortable still. My only complaint is that I had a pelvic injury 2 years ago and it acts up more so now than it has any other time in my pregnancy.
I'm with you I am still fine being pregnant, I want her out sooner rather than later only because I don't want her born too close to christmas.
That was me exactly. 36 weeks and 2 days and all of a sudden I was like..."nope, can't do it anymore."
If it makes you feel any better...I felt the same way around weeks 34 through 37! I was done and didn't think I could take another 3 weeks. Then all of a sudden, everything felt better. My heartburn went away, my back stopped hurting, and I wasn't completely exhausted 24/7.
Hang in there! We're with you. Some of us may be feeling better than others---- although we all have not too good of days! Stay strong.
I've been fortunate enough to have had a relatively easy pregnancy up until recently. My back is killing me, my feet are swollen to the point to where there is one stretch mark on each foot, they feel bruised and like they're on fire all at the same time, and I've developed this lovely carpal tunnel which makes it extremely difficult to brush my hair and especially my 5 year old daughter's super thick and curly hair, and my fingertips are constantly going numb. Yep...I think I'm ready whenever he is. I know it's best for him to stay inside and bake for as long as he can, but my body isn't too happy about it.
Hang in there- I wish you all the best! If you are bored- can you private message me and tell me how I can get a labor buddy? I noticed at the bottom of your profile that you have one. I sincerely wish you all the best!
I DID feel great up until about last week...then yes, "the wall." I still have good days and bad days though. I'm not consistently feeling horrible. I can still sit, walk around, even bend over to get things. I mostly sleep through the night.
But I am so. damn. tired.
I am okay until night falls. It never fails that around 7pm each night I start getting all achy & crampy in my lower back & lower abdomen. Then, when I lay down I get INTENSE pelvic pain, & have to go to the bathroom anywhere from every 20 minutes to every hour. This leaves me with relatively no sleep, which sucks because I am still working, & have to be at work at 6:30am.
The days actually aren't that bad, but damn, I do not look forward to my nights. That combined with the anticipation & the fact that I never for a second thought I'd make it to week 39 is driving me absolutely batsh!t crazy.
The end.
I'm only 37 weeks, but feeling for the most part really good. With DD (who was born at 40+1) I felt great right up to labour ;o).
I'm uncomfortable, but also realize that this part if a hell of alot easier for me than having a newborn (I really struggled with DD for the first months) - and I'm trying to enjoy this time before this little one arrives.
Not everyone is like this, but if you can - enjoy your own time, and rest as much as is possible - the hormones and sleep deprivation/stress of being wholly responsible for another person after birth really did me in!
I've been lucky this whole pregnancy. The only time I have a problem is rolling over in bed or getting up off the couch.
