Almond Butter ?

Do I have to refrigerate it? I know it says so on the jar, and I don't want it to get rancid (it's a costco jumbo jar), but I loathe refrigerated peanut butter... Anyone store almond butter in their pantry?

Mine is in the pantry. But, mine is in a plastic container - freshly ground at the store, so there may be a difference?

If it has sugar in that works a preservative and should keep o.k. in the pantry, but not necessarily. But...If your almond butter is all natural then it should be refrigerated since it has no preservatives in it that make other foods shelf stable. It maybe be good for a few days but not more than a week or two in the pantry.

I've bought some that say to refridgerate but the one I like best can be kept in the pantry. I hate refridgerated PB/almond butter

Ohhh I need to know where you got this! Its nice that we are close by. I've seen freshly made PB at Rollin Oats but never Almond.... Please share!!
