This isn't repelling, right?

DH put on a BG pocket the other day and AJ peed while he was fastening it. He felt the wetness, so he opened it and the liquid was pooling on top.

He thought it was repelling (we did use some ointment on his chest on him for some really dry skin, but I was REALLY careful to keep it away from the diaper area) but from what I've always read, it's really uncommon. And I think if the diaper had been fastened, it would have absorbed. (We've had very few leak issues, so I'd be shocked if we're all the sudden having true repelling).

Any thoughts?

  • If he pulled it off right away, it may not have even had time to absorb. I think if this was the only issue or occurrence then you're probably fine.

  • Some pooling before being absorbed is normal. I think you're right in that if the diaper was closed there wouldn't have been an issue. Unless you have more leak accidents you should be fine.

  • I agree with you and the others.  I wouldn't worry unless you start getting actual leaks.
