Trouble TTC

devastated lurker needs advise

Hi Ladies! First of all I wanted to say thank you, I have been reading your post for months and I have learned so much from all of you. My husband and I have been trying to conceive since October 2009. I was diagnosed with PCOS in August. I don't ovulate on my own, and haven't ovulated since I have been seeing the RE. In Sept we were planning on doing Gonal F + TI and it ended up being a cancelled cycle because my estrogen levels were very low and I didn't respond to the meds. This month we tried menopur and was planning on doing IUI. Yesterday was cd10 and they cancelled the cycle because my estrogen levels were again very low and I didn't have any measurable follies (all under 10). I'm crushed, I don't understand why my body hates me and can't do what it is susposed to do. We are OOP and I spent $3000 this month just paying for the menopur (they have me on 300iuis). The nurse said we could try to do a double dose of menopur next month to see if I would respond to that. I don't think we can afford another cycle right now. I hate the thought of taking a break, I feel so hopeless right now.  Has anyone else not responded to meds- what was the next step?

Thanks so much in advance! Your ladies are wonderful and I wish you all good luck!

  • Someone on this board (can't remember who) coordinates med donations for people who are OOP.  That might be an option for you.  Good luck, I hope you get to cycle again very soon.
