I feel like we are moving backwards..

Up until about 2 weeks ago, I really couldn't complain about sleep.. The boys go down about 9-930 and sleep until 530 & usually only woke up about once.. Now, they are still going to bed same time wake up to eat at the same time.. but wake up several times (3 or 4) during the night and its harder to get them back to sleep.  Before I could just pop their paci back in their mouth & now I have to soothe them back to sleep or move them out to their swing.

We swaddle, they get naps around 9, noon, and 3 everyday, they only get baths at night, they are  eating around 5-6 oz every 3-3.5 hours throughout the day...

I have read some things about a baby's sleep cycle.. Im just wondering if any of you have been in the same boat as me & had any tips on moving forward, because two babies waking up (at different times) 3 to 4 times at night is getting REALLY exhausting!

TIA!

  • Wow you are really lucky that they have been sleeping that well that early.

No advice except to hang in there.  Perhaps it's a growth spurt.

  • I feel the exact same way. I have no idea what is going on here, but DS is sleeping horribly. He will go down around 8:30 and sleep until about 1:30 or 2am and then he is up every hour or even every 20 minutes or so crying. I have no idea if he is addicted to paci and when it falls out he freaks, or if he is hungry or what. I fed him today at 3am and he still woke up at 4:10. I am going crazy and exhausted . Luckily DD sleeps right through it (mostly) and sleeps almost 8 hrs straight.

Obviously, I have no advice to offer. Just wanted to let you know I am in the same boat and it is getting very frustrating. GL to you!

  • I am in the exact same boat. They used to go down around 9pm, wake for one feeding between 1:30 - 3am and then wake between 6-7.  Now they wake up all throughout the night. Sometimes they have broken through their swaddle and sometimes they are just ticked for no reason. Same as you, I can feed them and one still wakes an hour later.  I wish I knew the answer. I was just thinking that I need to try something new, but am not sure what. It's been about a month of this for us now and I thought it would've changed by now. We had even had a couple nights where they slept through the night before. What I wouldn't give for just one of those again! We went to bed at 8pm last night in hopes of just getting a little extra sleep.
