Ob/gyn recs that work out of U of M hospital?

Hi there,

I am 6 weeks pregnant and just got off the phone with my insurance, my husbands insurance and my ob/gyn's office. Apparently my insurance (I work for U of M) will cover my appointments at my doctor's office, but if I choose to use her for delivery it would have to be at St. Joe's hospital and I would have a $5K deductible.... my husbands insurance was vague to say the least as to whether they would pick this up or not. I don't want to go through 9 months of appointments with one Dr. then have to switch just for the delivery!

I live in Allen Park, but I am willing to travel. My current doctor is in Canton.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

I *think* the docs at IHA in Ann Arbor have privledges at St Joes and U-M.... adn they are awesome. www.ihacares.com

My doctor actually was from IHA, she only delivers out of St. Joes though. I found somone in Canton today, so hopefully she is a good fit. Thanks for your response! And yes, they were awesome at IHA, that is why I am so bummed to leave. But I can't risk having to pay $5K out of pocket!

Thats why I said check out the IHA group in Ann Arbor.... the other offices only work out of St Joes, but I think the AA group delivers at both.

i saw the group of doctors at maternal fetal medicine in the taubman center at uofm. i loved all of them!
