My health insurance does not cover maternity so I am looking for a supplemental plan. i have looked online, but do any of you have maternity insurance and if so, through where?

Well Medicaid will usually cover a woman who is pregnant if her current insurance (or lack of insurance) does not. Check into that. They normally don't go by income, just that you don't have insurance and have a baby on the way
OP, I see you are in STL--me too. I'm not sure about medicaid, but I looked into individual health plans. You are able to add maternity, but you are excluded from coverage for 12 months, which sucks, especially if you get KU right away.

I get maternity through my work but I also signed up for AFLAC short term disability plan! I would check into that!
I thought AFLAC discontinued that plan as far as maternity goes? That would be awesome if I'm wrong!
I live in Maryland and it's still available. I signed up with it (through my job) a couple of months back. You have to be enrolled for at least 10 months before they'll cover you.

You are wrong and give the people on this board who actually know what they are talking about a bad name.
The guidelines, income calculations, and restrictions differ between states for medicare. A simple rule of thumb is that if you make less than $30,000 a year and have no insurance, you should apply for Medicaid, it may get approved. However, if she can afford her own supplemental coverage then she should not use coverage is that is federally funded. (tax payer funded, that is not what it is intended for.)
Also, I am reading this as she has insurance but not coverage for her maternity insurance. Aflac's Short Term Disability includes maternity (6 weeks) coverage. However it is a little expensive and has to be in effect for at least 9 months before you can use it. I found that it was actually better for me just to save the money than to pay the premiums for over 9 months. Good luck.

Re: Maternity Insurance
I believe Medicaid covers everything and I think they have to cover you no matter what you make.
You can also get maternity insurance through Blue Cross here in FL. It's a little pricey and you have to have it prior to getting pregnant.
hth!
