Hi ladies,
Ever since I got off the BCP in Feb and to prepare for TTC, I've had really long cycles. At first it was about 33 days, then it got longer and longer and this past cycle was 43 days. Couple of weeks ago I posted that I suspect I might not be ovulating. Well eventually I did, on day 25.
My other problem is that I didn't experience much temperature shift (sorry am still learning how to attach a chart to my sig so cannot show you yet). I do plan to see a doctor soon but I live in a foreign country (due to DH's work) so communication could be confusing. So before I go, would love to hear some of your feedbacks. Are the long cycles and lack of temperature change necessarily a problem? If so, are there anything that could help? Seriously started TTC from July.
Thanks for any input.

Well, since you KNOW you ovulated, I don't see why there is a problem?? Maybe your thermometer is broken.
ETA: are you seeing an RE?
So yes that is what I'm asking, supposed I am ovulating, but the cycle is very long and my temperature doesnt change, this is an indication that something else might be wrong?
When I went to the gyno's place, she did ultrasound and I can see my egg forming, which is why I said I know I was ovulating, at least from the last cycle (which is the cycle of 43 days). Not sure why everyone is putting quotatoin marks around the "know".....

If you have long cycles and you are ovulating, it doesn't mean anything. No temperature shift means NO OVULATION. But since the doctor told you otherwise, I guess you have no problems.
Um, it was one person. That hardly constitutes as "everyone".
Pretty sure it was just me that put the quotation marks around know. And I put them there because your chart doesn't indicate O but you/your dr say you did. Did your dr do an ultrasound showing you were gearing up to O or that you actually O'd? That could make a difference.
Regardless, I think should maybe try getting a new thermometer just in case that's the issue.
Alright, here's the low-down. It is possible, but rare, to see an egg, but not have it release. That way, at your doc appointment, she saw an egg on the u/s but your temp didn't shift b/c it never actually did anything. Your fertility monitor, opk's, or even ov-watch only detect the hormones in your body gearing up to O, not the actual thing. The only way to tell if you really O'd is a clear thermal shift.
My advice:
1. Read TCOYF. It is an awesome book and will answer most, if not all, your question.
2. Get a new thermometer. If all evidence points to O, but you don't see a shift, maybe your thermometer isn't accurate. Or...stop sleeping with the electric blanket, windows open, mouth open, etc which could be messing with your temps.
3. Give it a while before calling your doc. Even at 43 days, your cycles seem pretty regular and it can take up to a year for your body to regulate after the pill.
