Trying to Get Pregnant

Concern: Length of AF

Since going off the pill in May, AF has always been about 5-7 days in legth.  At least 2 of those days are always heavy (i.e. super plus tampon every 4-5 hours), 3 days are medium, and 2 days of spotting.

AF arrived this past Tuesday and as you can see (chart below) was very different this time.  We've been out of town and so I was planning on temping again when we got back and AF was over. Just to be on the safe side, I took a test today when we got home and it was a BFN.

Last month was a little different also, but not as much as this time.

Any ideas what could be up?  Has this happened to anyone?  You think it's still just my body adjusting to being off the pill?  I'm a little concerned, but not sure what it could be.

Re: Concern: Length of AF

  • Length of AF doesn't really matter, it's the length of your LP that matters.

  • I don't have any suggestions, but wanted to say hi. AF has been pretty regular for me, except for this last time, but I think that may be due to the Provera. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!!

  • Any stress lately? It could be traveling too... DH and I went to Europe over the summer and I didn't get AF for 2 months... IDK, just something to think about.
  • I don't think there's anyting to be concerned about.  Like PP said, it's the LP that really matters.  Since going off BCPs in September 2009, I've had AFs varying from 3-6 days.
  • My post BCP periods have been much lighter and more manageable as well ( it seems that's what you're worried about).  I am grateful that it's more manageable and it doesn't worry me--everything I've read says it's normal.  If it does bother you though, talk to your doctor so that you will have some peace of mind.

  • Thanks girls!!  Maybe I should just appreciate that I don't have to deal with it as much this month :)
