My BiL's bought this for L for Christmas and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Super, super sweet of them to think of it, and I know that money is pretty tight for them right now so it was a huge amount of $$ for them to put into a present...
But I worry about pushing L. I don't want him dislike school or learning (which is the biggest 'professional' complaint about the program). I also don't want to hurt the BiL's feelings, or waste their money by just smiling and never using it...
Suggestions? Thoughts? HELP!

Re: Your Baby Can Read
What a sweet present! I know what you mean, though. Can you try it casually, just poke around and see if the baby is interested?
I don't know what I would do, it really is so thoughtful and I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings either. I guess I have nothing but support!
Well, to be fair, it's "Your Baby Can Read," not "Your Baby Can Count."
What a wonderful gift and so thoughtful. I understand your concerns - YBCR is not getting very good reviews regarding effectiveness. There was something on the Today Show about it.
Maybe you can pick and choose things that would work for your LO? I'm sure there must be some things that you can show L on a fun basis.
