UGH!! In-Laws

I am really starting to believe that my in-laws think I am pregnant and we are just not telling them.   I am sick of the how are you feeling questions, the hopefull look on their faces everytime I see them, the looks of horror on thier faces if I ask MH to get me a beer, and the conversations they have with my son about sometime having a little brother/sister (he is 2.5 years old, like he knows what the he!! that means).   GOOD LORD they need to realize that we WILL tell them when it does happen but all this other sh!t/questions they keep asking does not make the TTC process any easier.  I've told MH to talk to them about it and let them know that things in the TTC world are not that easy this time around and to back off but his response was "you'll just have to get over it."  Really, I could have punched him in the face when he said that!!!!!!!!!! 

Just needed to get that out as they were just here and did their usual interrogation.

    Sorry to hear about that.  One thing that sticks out for me is the effect this might have on your LO.  At 2.5 he could get really confused and not in a good way.  I would talk to them NOW about nixing the baby #2 talk, if only for you LO's sake.

    ETA: if DH won't talk to them, you might have too.  I would hope that they would understand since it is their grandchild that they're affecting.

     

    All of this - it is one thing to make comments to you, but irresponsible of them to put your son in the middle.  If DH won't do it, then maybe you could figure out a nice way to say it to them. 


    Started TTC #1: July 2010 DX: PCOS

    I've tried to be as polite as possible to my M.I.L but I finally had to tell her that I understand she wants a grandchild (she has 6 others already) but that it will happen when it happens and all the stress wasn't helping us. It can be such a pain. If DH won't say anything sometimes you just have to do it yourself. I did & I feel like she actually gets the point now. GL.

    My in-laws are the same way, they think I am pregnant everytime we call or say we have to talk to them about something, but the only things is they DON'T want us to be. When we told them I was joining the military, when they found out they said "oh thank God, we thought you were going to say you were pregnant". They have no idea we are TTC and I have half a mind to tell them it was an accident when or if it happens. Ever since we started dating his mother constantly asked my husband if I was pregnant! Its really annoying. I can almost promise they are going to be upset, and all the books are going in the trash before they come for the holidays, and my computer is going on lockdown. I am not giving them any evidence that we are TTC.

    This is a great line.  If she knows that all this talk stresses you out and might be hindering you from getting KU, maybe she'll back off.

    I think I will have to use that line of have MH use it!!

    I don't know about that. If my ILs were doing something repeatedly that made me feel uncomfortable and MH told me to deal with it, this would be a serious conversation between me and him.

    bfp 2 - baby born via c-section on 5.4.12 @ 37 weeks

    bfp 3 - blighted ovum/d&c on 4.13.13 @ 8 weeks

    bfp 4 - 3rd IUI, very late BFN with super low P, c/p

    bfp 5 - natural bfp while on lupron, baby born via RCS on 4.27.15 @ 39 weeks

    bfp 6 - surprise! baby born via RCS on 11.13.16 @ 38 weeks
