Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Poll: What are you looking forward to the most?

Which of DC's upcoming milestones/parts of growing up are you most looking forward to?

For me, DD answering questions (yes or no.)  She's got a decent vocabulary and it's going to be cool when I can ask her a q and get an a!

  • I'm excited for so many things!  I was just thinking today that I can't wait for the first time she gives me a hug and kiss and says "I love you".  As a speech/lang. path., I'm excited  for her first words and to hear her voice when she talks.  I'm also very excited to see what she looks like when her hair finally starts growing!

I can't believe I forgot to mention that I am sooo excited for DD to have some HAIR!

  • I look forward to better communication also.  It's so amazing how fast they learn things.  DS does something new every day.  It won't belong until we're having conversations with our babies.

  • I can't wait for her to walk. Actually, because she is developmentally delayed I can't wait for any milestone. Anything would be good.

  • Talking. I can't wait to hear her stories. I love her voice. I love hearing her say "mamammamamamama" even though right now that means "pass me that dirty shoe I wish to chew on it."

I just can't wait to hear her tell me about her day, and babble for hours about nonsense. I love her so. I just want to hear her chatting.

  • I want to see him run around and tell me all the things he does with daddy while I am away. I want to hear him tell me he loves me.... And I would love to know what color his hair is, we are finally getting some!!!

  • Like most everyone else I can't wait for her to say her first word, blow kisses, give hugs and kisses, play with the kids next door (they are older so I guess for her to start walking) and oh so many more.  But then at the same time I don't want her to keep on growing so fast!!

I'm looking forward to a lot of her milestones.. but that's definitely the one I'm MOST looking forward to! Indifferent (that emoticon is me after 8 months of bad sleep ;)

  • Talking.  I can't wait to hear how her little voice sounds saying actual words.  Giving hugs and kisses.  I can't wait to see her running around with her cousins.  I can't wait to see how she likes school.  I wonder things like, "will she want me to pack peanut butter and jelly everyday for lunch?"  I wonder who her best friend will be.

    Okay, now I'm crying.

  • awww well now that I went back and read all the responses, I feel bad for saying STTN! LOL Can you tell I got about NO sleep last night :)

I've been wondering a lot lately what DD's voice is going to be like.. and now that she's cruising I can't wait to see her expression (and mine and DH's) when she takes those first steps!

  • LOL Bim, and here I was just going to say, damn, I forgot about STTN- can I change my answer Wink
  • I can't wait for her to talk....but I know there will come a time that I regret wishing for that.  She already has opinions, and I know she will not be shy to express them...man are we in trouble in 12 years!!!
  • communication!  i cant wait to hear him say "mama" and to let me know he wants something (just that he can ask for pick up amazes me).  and to understand "no" and "stop" - i have such a headache from him puling on my hair that i want to shave it all off!
