I'm an EPer and it's been driving me crazy that when I'm pumping for 30 minutes a session at least 6 sessions per day I'm not able to do anything but hold onto my breasts/the pump cups. Sometimes DD only gives me 30-45 minutes between feedings when she's quiet (I can't bear to be pumping while she's crying for attention or to be held) which means I am unable to eat lunch most days or have enough snacks to keep my calorie count up enough to produce the meager 1.5-2oz of milk per session. It's been so frustrating!!
Well the good news is I found a product that I just tried and it is awesome!! It's called Pump Ease (www.pumpease.com, they are a Canadian company and ship to the USA as well), it's a band that goes on over top of a nursing bra and holds the pump cups securely in place while you pump and lets you go hands free (I just finished using it while eating a sandwich and had no milk leak from the cups at all - not a single drop was lost). Just thought some of you ladies would like to know about this product as well.
Re: Hands Free Pumping
me too, I went to walmart and bought the 3 pack of Fruit of the Loom sports bras for $10 and cut some slits. I was not about to waste $40 on up for that.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
It goes on and off very easily and quickly. It is basically a tight bandeau that has 6 hook & eye closures up the front with slits for the pump cups to fit through.
I find that sports bras don't fit well enough to hold the pump cups securely (I've tried and I always have leakage out the bottom of the cups) unless of course they're the really expensive ones like my LuLuLemon sports bra and there's no way I'd cut holes in that! Plus I was looking for something that I could put on and off overtop of my nursing bra because I do try to let DD latch on and breast feed for about 10-15 minutes at least once a day.
I use the Easy Expressions bustier and I seriously tell every pumping mom to get it - it's so easy to use at work, I just lift my shirt and bra up, zip it around, put the pumps in and done. It adds MAYBE 20-30 seconds and is definitely worth the "extra" time. I bought it right before I went back to work and was kicking myself for not getting it sooner.
I know a lot of people do the sports bra thing, but I needed something I could get on and off without having to take my whole shirt off, and I didn't want to wear a sports bra every day.
This. Love my Simple Wishes bra.
