Prob a dumb question... Switching formula

If I am switching to a new brand do I need to slowly ween off?

Pedi didnt mention it.

  • I would say give it a try. If your LO spits it up, then try mixing it 50-50 or even 75-25. We are in the process of switching my LO from Similac Advanced to Nutramegin. She hates it, so we go slow. If she didn't hate it, I'd just switch her over in one shot.

  • Did something happen that you are choosing to switch from Similac Advanced? That's what we are currently using... and I'm waiting until Monday at the doctor to figure out if we need something different or not.

    No we are on Good Start reg. and he is SO gassy... then switched to the soy and he is worse off because he is SO constipated and the stuff that pedi recom didnt help. So now we are going to stay clear of soy and lactose. Please let this work!!!

  • my pedi said it takes about 3 days to notice a change from one formula to the next. we changed from Emfamil Infant Gas and fussiness (purple can) to the ProSobee.  We didn't have a problem at all.  We saw a HUGE reduction in gas....
