Trying to Get Pregnant

1st month charting & short luteal phase????

I just got AF right now. So, I just had a 19 day cycle with a 10 day luteal phase.  This is my first month charting.  A few months ago this happened as well. Is this something I should be concerned about? I go for an annual on Dec. 13th, so I will def bring it up.  I knew I was out this cycle because I O'd before we even got to try.

  • 10 days is generally ok, anything under 10 days is a luteal phase defect. You should be fine. Good luck!

  • 19 day cycle is really short! But your 10 day LP seems ok, mine is 11. Love your wedding flowers, looks exactly like mine, we have great taste! :)

  • How do you know this happened a few months ago if you just started charting? It is OK to have a shorter cycle as long as your LP is about the same each month. DId you just come off of hormonal BC?

  • I know this is a long shot, but are you sure it is AF (and not just spotting)?  What days did you have sex this cycle?

  • I am assuming I had a short luteal cycle a few months ago because I had been marking the calendar when I had ovulation cramps and when I got my period.  In July I had a 20 day cycle.  I came off of BCP in April.

PP I am sure it is AF because I started spotting yesterday,  A little while ago it was bright red when I was going to the bathroom.

  • That is quite the short cycle, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.  If your LP is shorter over the next few cycles, then maybe talk to your doctor.  At this point, though, I think you're fine.

Short cycles just mean more opportunities :)  I'm sure a lot of people would kill for a 20 day cycle!

  • A 10 day LP has been the norm for me the past few cycles. Of course I'm not pg yet either...so can't say if it's ok or not, but I hope it is! I'm overdue for my annual, so I'm planning to call my Dr after this cycle (which should end next weekend).
